I went to Firehouse Subs in East Lansing hoping it was as good as some of the other locations reviews. It was at best meh. The food was just ok, nothing special to set it apart from any other sandwich shop in town. I had a meatball sub and the meatballs and sauce lacked much flavor. My companion had a turkey sub which she said was just alright. They do have a touch screen coke fountain so that's cool. The place is clean and the staff is friendly so that's a plus. Just not worth a return trip often

The owners of this place are very nice & hardworking people. I say this because everytime i go here 1 of them is here and you know its them because they are always working very hard to satisfy the customers. The club on the sub is amazing. The service is very good and the place is always very clean. I love how they have so many different hot sauces to add to your sub. The subs are a little bit more expensive and take a little longer to make than the competitors but that being said, you definitely get what you pay for. The quality is better than any other sandwhich shop around. If youre hungry i definitely recommend stopping in. And i dont have any affiliation with firehouse i am speaking honestly from all of my experiences there. -brendan

Subs here are really good. My wife always attempts the chicken salad but 90% of the time they are out. I have not had a bad sandwich here and I love the wheat bread. The price is higher than Subway but the sandwich and the choices are so much better.

Sandwiches here are always good. They don't have the biggest variety, which is probably why they have a hard time messing a sandwich up. My co-workers and I came here around 12:30pm and the place was empty. There was only one guy working and we thought it a little strange to only employ one person during a lunch shift on a college campus. Shortly after our group ordered a line of people came in and this poor kid got slammed. It took almost 20 minutes for him to make our sandwiches, which we know isn't his fault! Seriously management what the hell are you thinking? The place was clean and the sandwiches were good. I would like to see more of a variety of chips or sides but eh.

I was stranded for a few days at the Marriott across the street, and stopped in at Firehouse Subs when I needed some lunch (and a change of scenery. Hotel rooms start to close in on you after a while). The guy behind the counter was super-friendly, don't know if he was the owner but he had an owner-y vibe. Eager to explain the menu if you hadn't been before, that sort of thing. I got a medium smoked turkey breast and provolone sub ($6 or so) which came with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard. Allegedly it comes with a pickle spear but they forgot mine. All subs are toasted unless you tell them not to. I devoured it up in my hotel room, and it was pretty big - even though it was the medium size (I think, unless it was a large??) I couldn't quite finish it. Honestly though, it was indistinguishable from your Subway, your Jimmy Johns. Perhaps that is the nature of sub sandwiches - how astonishing can they be? It tasted exactly as you'd expect, nothing special about the bread or the meat. BUT you get a lot of sandwich for your money. I thought it was a local shop but turns out Firehouse has 700 (!!!) locations. But they do have donation buckets for their charity at this location, so if you are torn between this and Subway, I'd go here and toss a few bucks in. But to me, the quality was really similar.

Never have I had to wait 30 min for a sub. They should have told us before we ordered! Disappointed.

Don't order sandwiches from here! Everytime I order a sub, I very specifically ask for NO PICKLE and they always give me one. The pickles leak all over the wrapper and stink up the whole sandwich and bag. I have complained to management and this still happens despite their promise to honor my request. After 5 times in a row that I clearly asked for NO PICKLE and was ignored, I won't do any more business with them. I recommend that you don't either.

Took 30 minutes to get my order. 5 people behind the counter and only 2 that appeared to be doing any work. Unacceptable for $22!!! I could have drove to the grocery store... Baked my own bread... And prepared my own sandwich in the amount of time it took Firehouse. I said good day!
